Here we are in a new year with spring around the corner and a new shooting season about to start. We hope to have a little bit of something for everyone: Chilliwack Steel matches, IDPA, tactical multigun, Black Powder and Trap. We will also have a series of three Battle Rifle matches throughout the year and host ICORE matches for revolver enthusiasts. Look for more details on the webpage and in newsletters! We will, of course, host the usual casual shooting and practice for our members. Check the calendar for more information.
There has been some splendid work done by Paul Dulong and the Membership Committee , there were one or two hiccups but the plan is coming together nicely and has increased the efficiency of dealing with memberships and collecting dues without having to handle large quantities of cash.
The Club House Renovations are proceeding , but slowly. We have been making our way through the bureaucratic maze that will allow us our permits and we have stripped the Club House in preparation. The new construction should be starting very soon. Many thanks to Mike, Tyler and Shannon who have been working on this.
As you can imagine, this Reno will not come cheap, and there will be a large expenditure on this project. In the name of fiscal prudence we will also need to keep a cash buffer in case of unforeseen issues and we of course need to service our bills and expenses.
Our major income is from Membership sales, which means our cash flow is reduced considerably in the summer and then picks up again in the Fall. As a result, we will be holding off on a number of projects until the fall when the next dues start to come in and cash flow increases.
There will still be work parties this year to assist with the ongoing maintenance of the range. We will host our first one May 5th, and our major focus will be the Rifle Range: working on the berms, and on the fabric of the range . The secondary focus will be on the Pistol Bay backstop. This will be a shovel, rake and work gloves kind of job, so come one, come all, no skill needed. BYOT
Hope to see you at the work party and on the ranges!
