Pistol Standard Shooting
Tuesday nights are reserved for Standard Pistol target shooting.
- Mid September to the end of May shooting is on the indoor range from 6pm to 9pm.
- May to September shooting is on the outdoor range from after 1830hrs. (6:30pm) until the posted range closing time.
During the indoor season standard targets are shot at 20 yds. with handguns chambered .22 cal up to .44 spl. and .45 Auto.
Tuesday night is an excellent time to come out and hone your pistol shooting techniques. If you are new to pistol shooting or would like to try pistol shooting for the first time, we have certified safety instructors who can help get you safely started in hand gun shooting.
We have many experienced members more than happy to help new shooters improve their basic pistol shooting skills. There are no firearms available for rent but for members who would just like to try a hand gun, something can usually be arranged. Targets are provided for a nominal fee.
When shooting moves outdoors there is a wide variety of shapes and sizes of steel knock-down targets available. Targets are set out at distances of 25 meters, 50 meters and 100 yds. to challenge and entertain experienced and new shooters alike. Following most pistol shooting nights there is usually a “shooting session” at Tim Horton’s; feel free to join in!
