We are hoping to restart the Junior 22 program early in 2023. But at present, we have a pressing need for volunteers that are willing to come out on Monday evenings to help with running the program.
The program sessions run each Monday evening other than statutory or major school holidays. The hours are from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. It is helpful if you are familiar with 22 rifle operations and marksmanship. But it is not by any means a requirement. The main task is monitoring for safe handling of firearms during movement and shooting, and helping to set up the benches prior to the start. The hope is that we can achieve a team of 4 to 6 volunteers so that we can rotate volunteers and no one has to give up all of their Mondays. If you have children that would like to attend the program and you are willing to help out in one of these leader positions that works too.
Due to the likelihood of dealing with winter weather to get to the range for these sessions ideally the volunteers should be fairly local to Chilliwack. While we appreciate the desire to help with such a program it’s not really fair to ask volunteers to drive from very far in harsh conditions just for a couple of hours of help.
